Exhibition "The Handwritten Ethnographic Collection"

092019-0.pngFor the first time the University Library “St. Kliment Ohridski” exhibits a part of one of its most valuable collections of manuscripts at "The Handwritten Ethnographic Collection“. This collection, also known as "The Archive of Professor Romanski”, includes a total of 396 Master’s degree thesis works of students from the Faculty of Slavic Philology, accomplished under Professor Romanski’s guidances, from 1929 to 1952.

The student's works consists of several thematic groups: settlement studies, studies in the field of traditional material of culture, folk art and spiritual culture. 289 villages and 52 cities are being studied. 
These academic studies present extensive historical and ethnographic research, which include materials from Bulgarian cultural and economic history. 
The exhibition can be seen until October 10, 2019.
