Exhibition at the University Library<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 11th<\/sup>, 2026 – the Feast Day of Saints Cyril and Methodius – an exhibition was opened at the Central University Library, featuring scholarly publications by faculty members of the Faculty of Education. The Director of the University Library, Assoc. Prof. Bilyana Yavrukova, congratulated the faculty members on the 40th anniversary of the faculty\u2019s establishment as an independent unit and noted that pedagogy is one of the first disciplines to be taught at Sofia University. Assoc. Prof. Yavrukova emphasized that the University Library is home to the personal library of Yosif Kovachev, and anyone interested can browse through his books and learn what the founder of pedagogy in Bulgaria taught his students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Director of the University Library highlighted the broad scope of the research conducted by the faculty members of the Faculty of Pedagogy and summarized: \u201cThese publications contribute significantly, not only through their scholarly value, but also through their application in Bulgarian education\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assoc. Prof. Yavrukova congratulated the faculty on the occasion and wished the faculty members good health, academic achievements and dedicated successors, who would pass on knowledge and apply it in practice through the teachings of their scientific work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy, Assoc. Prof. Vanya Bozhilova, expressed her gratitude to the University Library and the team that organized the exhibition, and then presented the exhibition. The first section, titled \u201cPast, Memory, and Succession“, features publications that have laid the foundations of pedagogy; collections, dedicated to faculty members; works, related to anniversaries; and almanacs and yearbooks that illustrate the collective spirit of the faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The central display cases contain publications, dedicated to the three majors that are taught at the faculty – fundamental works by faculty members from the oldest major, \u201cPedagogy,\u201d dedicated to the theory of education, theory of upbringing, professional pedagogy, and the history of pedagogy, as well as publications from the majors \u201cSocial Work\u201d and \u201cNon-Formal Education\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The third section of the exhibition features books, covering all aspects and levels of educational management, the competency-based approach to learning, e-learning, and innovations in education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assoc. Prof. Vanya Bozhilova concluded her presentation by thanking her colleagues from the Faculty of Pedagogy for their hard work and dedication to academia and research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition can be visited in the lobby of the Central University Library until June 30th<\/sup>, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
