An exhibition by the University Library is presented in Sozopol in June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time the University Library „St. Kliment Ohridski“ is included in the program of the International Francophone Festival \u201cSoleil\u201d. In the first week of June, a series of concerts, exhibitions, creative workshops and projections of animation films are organized as part of the festival. Each year, the Forum brings together artists, diplomats and representatives of cultural and educational institutions, committed to the promotion of cultural dialogue and the values of the Francophonie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official opening of the festival took place on 1st June in the Amphitheatre of Sozopol. The director of the festival Alexandrina Isailova welcomed the participants and guests, presented the rich cultural program of the fourteenth edition of the International Francophone Festival \u201cSoleil\u201d and thanked the institutions and individuals, which contributed to the realization of the cultural forum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 2nd June at the Archaeological Museum in the town of Sozopol two exhibitions were opened – a document exhibition \u201cBulgaria and the mosaics\u201d of the State Cultural Institute and \u201cFrench travelers in the Balkans XVIII – XIX century\u201d. The opening was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia and Honorary Chairman of this year’s edition of the Festival \u201cSoleil\u201d Her Excellency Agnesa Rusi Popovski, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, His Excellency Mehmet Sait Uyanak, the Consul General of Turkey in Burgas Tolga Orkun, the Mayor of Sozopol Municipality Tihomir Yanakiev, the Deputy Mayor of Sozopol Municipality Andrey Nikolov, the Director of the Cultural Institute at the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in Sofia Zoran Peikovski, prof. Enis Tulcea from the State Turkish University \u201cGalatasaray\u201d, members of the academic community of Sofia University, Thessaloniki University, heads of cultural organizations, guests and participants in the forum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The director of the festival Alexandrina Isailova and the director of the Archaeological Museum in the town of Sozopol Dimitar Nedev opened the two exhibitions, highlighting the rich cultural traditions of the Bulgarian lands and the impressions of the French travelers of the XVIII – XIX centuries in the Balkans. The directors of the State Cultural Institute – Dr. Snezhana Yoveva-Dimitrova and the University Library Assoc. Prof. Bilyana Yavrukova presented the expositions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition, prepared by the University Library exclusively for the festival, includes the travelogues of Fran\u00e7ois Pouqueville, Albert Dumont, Claude-Charles de P\u0435yssonnel, Ami Bou\u00e9, J\u00e9r\u00f4me-Adolphe Blanqui, Aubry de la Mottra\u0443e, Louis L\u00e9ger, Esprit-Marie Cousin\u00e9ry, Paul Lucas, etc. The editions of the French travellers are part of the richest collection of rare and valuable scientific publications, published between the 16th and 20th centuries, in the country. Exhibited in one of the most visited cultural venues of the seaside town, the books of the University Library evoked the interest of the participants of the International Francophone Festival and the guests of the town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
