The library was established in May 2008 on the basis of the existing libraries of the departments of Sociology (1989) and Political Science (1990). It is a main centre for academic activities of students from these two departments and the departments of European Studies and Public Administration. The enrichment of its collections is supported by donations from various organizations, institutions and individuals \u2013 the World Bank Mission in Bulgaria, the French Cultural Institute, the International Center for Minority Studies and Intercultural Relations, the Bielefeld University, Prof. Walter Muller, Teresa Renehan, Living Conditions and Quality of Life, European Foundation for Improvement of Living and Working, etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Social Studies branch library meets the best organizational standards of library and information services. It maintains library materials on the issues of globalization, integration, international relations, communications, internal policy, modernization and other social and political issues. Its collections contain over 23,510 items. The library has 20 reading places, including 7 computerized workstations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
