University library "St. Kliment Ohridski"

Interlibrary loan

Faculty members, doctoral students, undergraduates, and staff of Sofia University may request library resources (books, journal articles, and conference proceedings) for temporary use from libraries in Bulgaria and abroad when these are not available in the University Library. External users may also access this service.

Interlibrary loan regulations are based on the Library Rules of Service.

To use the service, readers must present a valid reader’s card and provide bibliographic information about the required resource. The received books may be used only in the reading rooms of the Central University Library for a period specified by the lending library.
Before submitting an interlibrary loan request, readers should verify whether the bibliographic material is available in the e-catalog of Sofia University Library.

Request limit. Through the international interlibrary loan service, faculty and students may borrow up to three books and five journal articles per academic year.

Processing time for requests. Processing time varies depending on the type of resource requested and the lending library. It usually takes two to four weeks for materials to arrive after shipment is confirmed.

Users will be notified by email as soon as the requested resource has been received by the Library.
Requests can be submitted via the order forms or by email: dds[at]libsu.uni-sofia.bg.
