The acquisition of library’s collections dates back in 1903 on the basis of pedagogy literature from the collections of the Philosophy seminar. The collections were set apart in 1905 and later enriched by donations of private collections, including that of Prof. Hristo Negentsov, containing over 3,000 volumes. The library became a faculty library with the establishing of the Faculty of Education in 1986.
Today the library has 73,700 items (books and serials). They are in the field of theory of education, educational management, didactics, pedagogical psychology, social work and informal education in Bulgarian, Russian, German, English and French. The library has 20 reading places, including 7 computerized workstations..
