The library to the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication set up as an independent unit in 1980. Its special collections has grown rapidly through acquisition and generous donations by the Union of Bulgarian Journalists, Open Society Foundation, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the American University in Bulgaria, The Access Association, Media Development Center, The United Nations Association of Bulgaria, the French Cultural Institute, Goethe Institute, INTERPRED/Word Trade Center and others. The library stores the private library of Prof. Georgi Borshukov.
Today the library is located in an entirely renovated premises. It offers general and special educational, scientific and reference library resources, covering a broad range of interest to Faculty’s students and professors. Its collections contain of more than 25,600 volumes of books, serials, imprints and e-resources. The library has 18 reading places, including 8 computerized workstations.
