The Book of Durrow (Dublin, Trinity College Library, MS A. 4. 5. (57)) is a 7th-century illuminated manuscript gospel book. It is considered the oldest extant complete illuminated Insular gospel book. It was probably created between 650 and 700, perhaps by monks from Durrow, a small rural village in County Offaly, Ireland.

darrow_snimka_3.jpgSpecial limited edition of The Book of Durrow was printed in 1960 (600 copies), intended as a gift for VIPs and institutions. Copy № 566 of the edition was donated to the University Library in sign of gratitude for the fruitful cooperation between the Embassy of Ireland in Bulgaria and the University Library “St. Kliment Ohridski”.
